South Melbourne Seafoods, established in 2011, is a family-owned and operated fresh seafood business located at the South Melbourne Market with an emphasis on providing locally sourced, ethically caught, sustainable seafood to the local community.

Owners John and Yianni started in the seafood industry in the late 70s and early 80s.

They crossed paths when working in Melbourne's wholesale fish market in Footscray where they were both operating separate wholesale businesses. Eventually, in 2001, fate would have it that they join powers and started a retail seafood business at the thriving Queen Victoria Market. In 2011 John and Yianni started a shop at the South Melbourne Market - South Melbourne Seafoods! To this day, their joint commitment to quality, customer service excellence and relationships they have built within the seafood wholesale industry has remained a core part of the way they do business.
